Team Podolak's New Skill

Last summer we visited some friends with a "how-to" sausage making book. It looked interesting, plus we all truly want to know what's in our favorite stuffed meat (well not always...but most of the time). This past week we made our first batch...Louisiana Poultry Sausage--delicious and extra spicy. Our next project will be beer once we get settled in Anchorage with a house big enough to brew or at least easy access to a garage or deck. More to come...

JAWS hits 250K miles

Sunday, 23 November was a milestone day in the Team Podolak household. Andi's car, Jaws, went over 250K miles. Andi's car has been a part of her life for over 14 years to every assignment, three continents, and many road trips. Hopefully several of you will have a chance to visit with us and Jaws on our roadtrip to Alaska next summer.

Fiery Hillsides and quaint towns

Last weekend, we went north for the AF vs. West Point football game (see post below). It was Andi's first trip to West Point and a good excuse to get away for the weekend. The drive up was gorgeous--a color chart made of trees. Absolutely GORGEOUS! We spent the night in Fishkill, NY, where Andi spent the morning taking lots of pics while Chuck caught up on the latest election news. We also found an Italian restaurant that rivals our favorite place in Boise, Gino's.

Notice two things about specific West Point pics...2008 Orienteering Champions (not something you see everyday) and those of you from Colorado will notice we don't have that many colors on or near our campus.

Enjoy!

Air Force Wins!!!

Air Force beat Army in an underwhelming victory. Yea! It was a fun day, great weather, beautiful autumn foilage, and an AF victor at West Point. We saw lots of friends and were able to catch up at tailgates before the game. More to come on the fiery hillsides and the picturesque town of Fishkill, NY.
